Stitching, Cutting and Tailoring

Stitching, Cutting and Tailoring-

The Stitching and Cutting Programme is an empowering initiative by Asheray Foundation aimed at equipping women and girls with practical tailoring skills that foster self-reliance and sustainable livelihood opportunities.

The program provides comprehensive training in the fundamentals of tailoring, including fabric selection, cutting and measurement techniques, stitching methods, finishing, and garment design. Through hands-on sessions and guided practice, participants learn to create garments, household items, and simple fashion products with precision and creativity.

Beyond technical expertise, the training nurtures confidence, creativity, and an entrepreneurial mindset, inspiring women to transform their skills into income-generating opportunities.

The program particularly benefits women from economically weaker and underprivileged communities, enabling them to:

  • Acquire employable and marketable skills
  • Start small tailoring businesses or earn through home-based work
  • Contribute to their family’s income and financial stability
  • Participate in sustainable, skill-based community development

To ensure long-term empowerment, the NGO provides training, certification, and in some cases, sewing machines, helping beneficiaries gain both the skills and resources necessary to achieve economic independence and dignity.
